1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ApplyLeft ("Service"), operated from India by edbn.me ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By creating an account or using ApplyLeft, you affirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
If you are using ApplyLeft on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and references to 'you' in these Terms will refer to both you individually and the organization.
2. Description of Service
ApplyLeft is a SaaS platform that provides AI-powered resume generation, customization, and optimization tools. Our Service includes:
- AI-assisted resume creation tailored to specific job descriptions
- Multiple professional resume templates and formatting options
- Resume version history and management
- PDF export and download capabilities
- Interactive chat assistance for resume improvement
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
3. Account Registration and Security
To access certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. When you register, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We recommend using a strong, unique password and enabling two-factor authentication when available. We reserve the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, or remove or edit content in our sole discretion.
4. Credit Packs and Billing
ApplyLeft offers free actions and paid one-time credit packs:
Free actions: uploads, parsing, manual edits, previews, downloads, PDF export, viewing history, failed validations, and failed AI calls.
Credit packs grant separate generation credits and assist credits. Credits do not expire, and buckets cannot be converted into each other.
Credit pack terms
- Generation credits are used for full resume generation, job-tailored resume generation, and full resume regeneration
- Assist credits are used for chat, inline improvements, edits, updates, fixes, cover letters, outreach messages, and smaller AI operations
- There is no automatic renewal or subscription
- We may change pricing with at least 30 days advance notice via email
- Refunds, chargebacks, or payment reversals may reverse credits and can leave a negative balance if credits have already been spent
- All fees are exclusive of taxes, levies, or duties imposed by taxing authorities
- Polar handles checkout as merchant of record. Purchases are also subject to Polar’s Buyer Terms and privacy policy. ApplyLeft provides the resume service and credits.
5. Usage Limits and Fair Use
Paid AI operations require enough credits in the matching bucket before work begins. Credits are reserved while AI work is in progress and captured only after a successful operation.
You agree not to:
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent usage limits
- Create multiple accounts to obtain additional free usage
- Use automated tools or scripts to access the Service
- Share your account credentials with others
- Resell or redistribute access to the Service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these fair use policies. Repeated violations may result in permanent account closure without refund.
6. Intellectual Property, Logos and Research
Service Ownership: ApplyLeft's original content, features, and functionality belong to edbn.me or its licensors. This does not include user content or third-party trademarks, logos, research, or other materials, which remain subject to their owners' rights and applicable licences.
Your Content: You retain all rights to the content you create, upload, or store using the Service, including resume content, personal information, and work history. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use, store, and process your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.
Company Logos and Names: Amazon, Meta, Apple, Microsoft, Google, NVIDIA, Salesforce, Adobe, Netflix, Uber, and other third-party names, logos, and marks belong to their respective owners. Our company career links identify employers and direct you to their websites. Displaying these names or logos does not indicate affiliation, sponsorship, partnership, certification, or endorsement of ApplyLeft. It does not mean every listed company has interviewed or hired an ApplyLeft user.
Independent Research: We cite Algorithmic Monocultures in Hiring (FAccT 2026; arXiv:2605.27371) by Rishi Bommasani, Sarah H. Bana, Kathleen A. Creel, Dan Jurafsky, and Percy Liang. ApplyLeft did not author or contribute to this paper. The citation does not indicate endorsement by its authors or institutions. The study examines shared algorithmic hiring assessments; it does not evaluate ApplyLeft or establish that resume optimisation improves interview or hiring outcomes.
Research Attribution and Licences: The paper is available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), as linked from its arXiv record. Our explanation and diagram are summaries for context, not a reproduction of the paper's text or figures. The paper and any separately licensed code, data, fonts, or artwork retain their own licence terms. These Terms do not restrict rights granted by those licences or applicable law, and do not grant permission to use third-party trademarks.
Rights and Accuracy Concerns: If you believe a logo, citation, or other material infringes your rights or is inaccurate, contact legal@applyleft.com with the page URL, the material concerned, and the basis for your request. We will review the concern and correct or remove material where appropriate.
Restrictions: Except as permitted by applicable law or an applicable third-party licence, you may not:
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the Service without express written permission
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the Service to create a competing product or service
7. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use the Service:
- To generate content that is false, misleading, defamatory, or fraudulent
- To infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
- To transmit any malicious code, viruses, or harmful components
- To interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
- To attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service
- To harass, abuse, or harm another person or entity
- To violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who violates this provision, including removing content, suspending or terminating accounts, and reporting violations to law enforcement authorities.
8. AI Content, Examples and Career Outcomes
ApplyLeft uses artificial intelligence to assist in generating resume content and providing recommendations. You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated content is provided as suggestions and should be reviewed for accuracy
- We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or suitability of AI-generated content
- You are solely responsible for reviewing and editing all content before use
- You should verify all facts, dates, and information in your resume
- AI recommendations may not be appropriate for all situations or industries
We strongly recommend that you carefully review all AI-generated content and customize it to accurately reflect your experience, skills, and qualifications before submitting it to employers.
Match Scores and Screening: Match or similarity scores compare resume content with a supplied job description. They are not scores from an employer's applicant tracking system (ATS) or hiring algorithm, and do not predict a hiring decision. ApplyLeft does not guarantee ATS acceptance, shortlisting, interviews, job offers, employment, or salary. Employers make their own decisions.
Interview Statements: The Amazon and Meta interview statement describes individual outcomes reported to ApplyLeft. It does not claim job offers or placements, a success rate, or that ApplyLeft caused those results. We have not measured typical interview outcomes or established ApplyLeft's effect on these results. No interview or hiring outcome is claimed for the other companies listed in our career links.
Illustrative Examples: Sample resumes, job descriptions, match indicators, and application-tracking previews are examples. They are not actual vacancies, users' resumes, or verified recruitment outcomes. A preview does not mean every illustrated workflow is available in the product.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by edbn.me. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.
Company career pages and research links are provided for reference. ApplyLeft does not recruit on behalf of these employers, submit an application by opening a link, or guarantee that a vacancy remains available. Review the destination's terms and privacy policy before applying or providing information. The Privacy Policy explains how our homepage links and locally served logo assets work.
Third-party integrations include but are not limited to
- Supabase for authentication and database services
- Polar for payment processing
- GitHub and Google for OAuth authentication
You acknowledge and agree that we shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused by or in connection with the use of any such third-party services.
10. Data Privacy and Security
Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information. These Terms and the Privacy Policy do not replace any separate consent required by applicable law for a particular use of your information.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, including:
- Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS
- Secure storage of passwords using industry-standard hashing
- Regular security audits and updates
- Row-level security policies in our database
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by:
- Stopping future credit purchases
- Contacting our support team to request account deletion
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Your data will be deleted within 30 days unless retention is required by law.
We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms
- Fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- Non-payment of fees
- At our sole discretion for any other reason
All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
12. Disclaimers and Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EDBN.ME DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
- Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- Warranties regarding the quality, accuracy, or reliability of any content obtained through the Service
- Warranties that any defects will be corrected
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements or that it will help you secure employment. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL EDBN.ME, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses
- Damages resulting from your use or inability to use the Service
- Unauthorized access to or alteration of your content
- Statements or conduct of any third party on the Service
- Any other matter relating to the Service
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF:
- The amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or
- One hundred dollars ($100.00)
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless edbn.me, its parent company, officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your use or misuse of the Service
- Your content or any content you submit, post, or transmit through the Service
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Your violation of any applicable laws, rules, or regulations
This indemnification obligation will survive termination of these Terms and your use of the Service.
15. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution: Contact support@applyleft.com with any complaint or dispute. We will seek to resolve it in good faith within 30 days, or within any shorter period required by applicable law.
Statutory Remedies: This informal process does not prevent you from approaching a competent court, consumer commission, or other authority where applicable, or from exercising rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be waived. You do not have to complete the informal process before exercising those rights.
Urgent Relief: Either party may seek urgent court relief, including to protect intellectual property or personal information, without waiting for the informal resolution period to end.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory consumer, privacy, or other protections that apply to you.
Disputes may be brought before courts and authorities with competent jurisdiction in India, subject to any mandatory rules that entitle you to seek a remedy elsewhere. These Terms do not exclude statutory consumer complaints or restrict rights that applicable law does not allow us to waive.
17. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
Notice of changes will be provided by
- Posting the updated Terms on this page with a new "Effective Date"
- Sending an email notification to your registered email address
- Displaying an in-app notification upon your next login
By continuing to access or use the Service after revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.
We encourage you to review these Terms periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its intent.
If modification is not possible, the invalid provision shall be severed from these Terms, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any other legal notices or agreements published by us on the Service, constitute the entire agreement between you and edbn.me regarding the Service.
These Terms supersede and replace any prior agreements, understandings, or representations regarding the Service, whether written or oral.
